The Symbol PPT 2700 combines integrated scanning, sophisticated
connectivity and ruggedness with the popular Microsoft Palm-size PC®
platform. The PPT 2700 offers ruggedized data communications capabilities
with its built-in link to the open architecture of Spectrum24®.
This wireless LAN from Symbol Technologies enables up-to-the-minute
information flow between the point of activity and your remote host
systems.
The PPT 2700's buttons and triggers are ergonomically positioned for
ease of use in the operator's hand. At 7 in. high the SPT 1700 is
relatively small. Weighing just 10.3 oz., the SPT 1700 serves as an
effective tool for mobile applications such as field work. Warehouse and
inventory control solutions are frequent uses for this Symbol unit.
The Symbol PPT 2700 is one tough customer also. The ruggedized housing
withstands drops of up to 4 ft. to concrete. Tested to IP54 standards for
protection against rain and dust, these computers can be used outdoors on
loading docks and yards. Or, service professionals in the field of
hospitality can establish Windows-based mobile sales counters during peak
times and curbside check-in at hotels -regardless of the weather!
The PPT 2700 provides the standard PIM software and sync capabilities
of a Palm-size PC and is fully compatible with standard 32-bit application
development tools. It comes with 16MB of RAM and 12MB of flash ROM to meet
data and program requirements.
